More Ways to Earn AHCC CEUs

Submit scenarios, tools, or articles to earn CEUs

You can earn CEUs to recertify your HCS-D, HCS-H, or HCS-O credentials by submitting scenarios, tools, or articles to AHCC. You’ll earn CEUs for each item you submit, and we’ll consider your submissions for possible inclusion in AHCC publications. 

Notes: Each CEU awarded may be used once for the indicated credential. Submit your content to: ahccmembers@decisionhealth.com

Write up a scenario

Write up a coding or OASIS scenario that fellow AHCC members can use to test their skills.

The scenario should include:

  • All necessary details for the reader to formulate a correct response.
  • The best coding, OASIS responses, or course of action for the described scenario.
  • A rationale for the correct answer.
  • Links or citations to pertinent official guidance.
  • 8-10 codes (for coding scenarios)

The AHCC board will review submissions. OASIS scenarios earn HCS-O CEUs, Home Health coding scenarios earn HCS-D CEUs, Hospice coding scenarios earn HCS-H CEUs.

Earn: 1 HCS-D, HCS-H or HCS-O CEU per scenario            

Write up a summary of an AHCC Talk episode

Listen to an episode of AHCC Talk and write a summary of the topic.

The summary should include:

  • Speaker’s names and titles
  • Topic covered
  • Summary of content
  • Key Take-aways

Length: 400-500 words

Earn: 1 HCS-C, HCS-D, HCS-H or HCS-O CEU

Submit a story for the AHCC blog

Do you have an educational piece of content to share? Write up your best practices, instructions for coding a particular condition, or work success stories and submit them for consideration as an AHCC blog post.

Stories should:

  • Be 500-800 words.
  • Not pitch a particular product or service.
  • Help inform or improve working practices for Home Health or Hospice coders or OASIS reviewers or these industries in general.

Stories must be original content written by the submitter. Stories will be reviewed by members of the AHCC board. OASIS stories earn HCS-O CEUs, Home Health coding stories earn HCS-D CEUs, Hospice coding stories earn HCS-H CEUs.

Earn: 1 HCS-C, HCS-D, HCS-H or HCS-O CEU

Submit an original tool for the AHCC Tool Library

Have you developed a tool that helps with your work? Submit it for a CEU.

Types of tools include:

  • Query templates
  • Decision trees
  • Cheat sheets

Members of the AHCC board will review tools for possible inclusion in the AHCC Tools library.

Earn: 1 HCS-C, HCS-D, HCS-H or HCS-O CEU

Notes: Content will be awarded CEUs for the related credential. Edits may be required for any published materials. All content submitted must be original.
